Philadelphia SSI Lawyers
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is based on financial need. The SSI program is managed by the Social Security Administration (SSA), but SSI benefits are paid from the United States Treasury general funds. The financial requirements for obtaining SSI benefits differ from the requirements for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits but the disability definition is the same. At the Disability Benefits Law Center, we provide experienced and effective legal help to people seeking SSI benefits. We are here to answer your questions and secure a favorable outcome for your claim.

SSI requirements
You must have low income and assets (basically the same as welfare eligibility) and be disabled to be eligible for SSI.
Financial – You must have low income and resources less than $2,000.00 in cash or cash equivalent resources. The SSA may consider other household income and resources (such as from your spouse), not just your own, to determine financial eligibility.
Disability – You must prove you are disabled under the same requirements as for SSD benefits. However, children 18 or younger are required to prove a higher level of disability than adults.
Our attorneys assist people at all stages of the process—from the initial application to the appeal. We have helped over thousands of individuals obtain disability benefits, and we are ready to help you. Contact the Disability Benefits Law Center today.
